On one glorious autumn day I met my old friend Sten again. He had gone back to real (meaning not digital) photography. He’s been shooting on medium and large formats.
I must say, the images are impressive that come out of his Bronica (6×6) or an old Graflex Speed Graphix (9×12). We discussed for a long time what makes these images special and we agreed that it’s all about the details that are captured on the film and also the quality optics.
I talked about that meeting to my fellow co-workers and one of them had Hasselblad 500 c/m in his closet. The best thing about it is that I have it for use now. Thank you Risto! I also loaded a 35mm BW film to my old Sears TLS also. (remark: first film after shooting a year on digital was quite a disaster- technically a lot of mistakes and can be viewed here)
So there you go, I’m back to real photography and I feel that digital isn’t as far as fun.
For some excellent med/l format shots go check out Sten’s and Tanel’s shots at Flickr:

What can I say: “Thank you Sten for taking me back to real stuff. How long did it take? 1-2 hours, not much!”
